Violist & violinist David Riker has performed with The Orchestra Now (at Carnegie Hall & Jazz @Lincoln Center), the orchestra of the Florida Grand Opera, Opus One (Miami City Ballet), Miami Symphonic Services, South Florida Symphony, Renaissance Chamber Orchestra, the Miami Symphony, and South Florida Philharmonic, as principal, assistant principal, section, and solo viola. He performed for 3 seasons as a violinist with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, under the direction of Daniel Barenboim, Neemi Jarvi, Cliff Colnot, among others, at Carnegie Hall & Chicago’s Symphony Center, and also with the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra. David’s primary violin teachers were Myron Kartman and Felicia Moye, while Richard Fleischman is his primary viola teacher. David received his Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University, and has also studied at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati and the Leonard Sorkin Institute of Chamber Music at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has participated as a guest violist in Musimlenage (chamber music series) and in chamber music festivals, such as the Festival Internazionale Quartetto d’Archi in Reggio Emilia, Italy, as interim violist in the Vinca String Quartet, and the Zephyr International Chamber Music Course and Festival (Italy). David maintains a freelance career as a teacher and performer. He is also a National Board Certified Teacher, and maintains a private viola studio. David is currently a faculty member at the New World School of the Arts, where he teaches chemistry and serves as the faculty advisor for the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Luvyana Marquez is a 17 year old violist from Miami, FL. She is the principal violist for the New World School of the Arts high school orchestra where she studies viola performance under Richard Fleischman. She has attended various prestigious summer programs, including the Sphinx Performance Academy at the Curtis Institute of Music. Luvyana is also a member of "The Superpower of ME" quartet, which is a Latinx based quartet performing to raise music education scholarships for children in need.
Born in Brazil, Saulo Vieira started his studies at the age of 6 at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Pará, part of the Vale Musica Project. Now in Miami Florida Saulo is the principal flutist for the New World School of the Arts high school wind ensamble and orchestra where he currently studies under Rene Miska. He is also the vice president of New World School of the Arts' Music Honors Society.
My name is Samantha Camejo and I am a rising senior in the vocal strand! I am the treasurer for Tri M and am also the officer for a few other clubs here at New World, serving as the president for Key Club and the historian for SADD! I have been involved with music for as long as I can remember and joined my school's choir in third grade. I have competed in multiple district and state vocal federation competitions, receiving mostly superior ratings at districts and even received an honorable mention at states my freshman year! I have also used my love for singing as a recreational music volunteer when I was part of the summer volunteer program at Nicklaus Children's Hospital.
Biana is a 17 year old violinist, classical singer, and composer who has performed all over the world. Biana won the 2019 New World School of the Arts Concerto Competition. She sings in 9 different languages and has attended several prestigious summer programs and masterclasses including the Bowdoin International Music Festival as well as the isa masterclass program with the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. Biana's passion for music, learning, and philanthropy drives her to excel further in pursuing her craft.
